Arizona

Route 66 covered 645 kilometers in the state of Arizona, which was operative until 1985, when it ceased to be a highway, being replaced by the I-40.

This state is between the red-rock mesas of New Mexico and the deserts of California, passing through many interesting places which are sure worth visiting.

The history of the route in this state is inexistent practically, so I'll show you my favorite place to visit and where I go every single year.

Grand Canyon National Park

This amazing park which I am sure you have heard about was named a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

This park is found in the northwestern part of Arizona, and its main focus is the Grand Canyon, which is considered to be one the Seven Natural Wonders of the World.

My personal experience, as I have been there, is pretty interesting. I go there every summer, where we rent a houseboat and stay in the lake right next to the Grand Canyon. We usually stat there for a whole week, my friend’s family and I. While we are there, we waterski, sightsee, go tubbing and many other things.

It is a truly amazing experience to see the Grand Canyon and out of the all stops I have mentioned, this one is a MUST with capital letters.
